Possible causes:
- High iron value (through hair testing) is mainly in relation to heavy metal burden, especially through aluminium and mercury
- Intake of high dosed iron supplementation (>80mg/day)
Possible consequences:
- Symptoms of lack of iron through heavy metal burdens
- Iron (Fe 3+ ) is a strong oxidant, which produces free radicals and damage of cells
- Haemochromatose (deposit of iron in the body)
Measures:
- Remove potential toxic trace elements
- Intake of antioxidants
- Regulation of the serum ferritin and if necessary bloodletting
